New York fire commissioners demand 9/11 investigation

On 24 July the Franklin Square and Munson Fire District in New York became the first legislative body in the United States to officially support a new investigation into the events of 9/11. A resolution drafted and introduced by Commissioner Christopher Gioia cited “overwhelming evidence” that “demonstrates beyond any doubt that pre-planted explosives and/or incendiaries—not just airplanes and the ensuing fires—caused the destruction of the three World Trade Centre buildings, killing the vast majority of the victims who perished that day” on 11 September 2001.

Commissioner Gioia’s resolution was unanimously approved by the five commissioners of the Fire District. Why a resolution now, nearly 18 years after 9/11? The fire commissioners clearly see a pathway for 9/11 justice following recent developments to establish a new investigation before a federal grand jury. The Grand Jury Investigation Project organised by the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry would investigate evidence of the World Trade Centre’s explosive demolition in a court of law, which to date has not occurred. In April 2018 the Lawyers’ Committee filed a petition with the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Geoffrey Berman, outlining the evidence of the World Trade Centre’s explosive demolition on 9/11. In a 7 November 2018 letter, the US Attorney notified the Lawyers’ Committee that he would comply with the provisions of law (18 U.S.C. § 3332) requiring him to relay their report to a special grand jury.

Uncomfortable truths

Attorney David Meiswinkle, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lawyers’ Committee, has partnered with Richard Gage, Founder and President of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911Truth), in the Grand Jury Investigation Project. Finally, after years of campaigning, the prospect of a grand jury investigation promises to uncover some uncomfortable truths behind 9/11 with the potential of bringing many of the conspirators behind 9/11 to justice.

Perhaps the most alarming evidence presented by AE911Truth and the Lawyers’ Committee is that relating to the 47-story WTC 7 (Building 7) which collapsed at free-fall speed at 5:20 PM on 11 September 2001, without being struck by an aircraft. The overwhelming evidence of controlled demolition brings up a disturbing question: Who were the terrorists that had access to WTC 7 and the extensive time and technology required to prepare it (and therefore likely the twin towers) for demolition? WTC 7 was probably one of the most secure buildings in the USA, given the US Secret Service occupied floors 9-10; the Securities and Exchange Commission occupied floors 11-13; and the Department of Defence, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and Internal Revenue Service shared floor 25.

Latest developments

Meiswinkle and Lawyers’ Committee litigation director Mick Harrison spoke last month by telephone with Michael Ferrara, the chief of the terrorism unit of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. Ferrara is one of two officials who signed the above-referenced 7 November letter to the Lawyers’ Committee on behalf of US Attorney Berman. In this phone conversation, Ferrara confirmed that the US Attorney would comply with the federal statute regarding Special Grand Juries as it relates to the petitions filed by the Lawyers’ Committee. He said, however, that he could not disclose any information regarding the status of the Lawyers’ Committee’s petitions due to the secrecy requirements for federal grand jury proceedings imposed by Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure.

This secrecy is not surprising, particularly given the highly sensitive nature of such an investigation. Several government officials are certainly doing everything possible to stall the inquiry which will likely expose their incompetence, dishonesty, or even complicity in the crimes of 9/11. But with the Franklin Square and Munson Fire District’s 24 July resolution, an important new process is under way. Commissioner Gioia made it clear that this was just the first step. Their goal now is to get every fire district in the state to go on record supporting a new 9/11 investigation. “We’re a tight-knit community and we never forget our fallen brothers and sisters”, Gioia said. “You better believe that when the entire fire service of New York State is on board, we will be an unstoppable force.”

If President Trump were to support a 9/11 Grand Jury Investigation, the “impossible” may become possible! And it’s not entirely inconceivable. Just hours after the 9/11 attacks, Trump spoke to WWOR/UPN 9 News: “I happen to think that they not only had a plane, but they had bombs that exploded almost simultaneously”, he said without hesitation, noting the incredibly strong design of the World Trade Centre towers.
