My family and I have lived in Melbourne North for 33 years following my immigration from Iraq during the Gulf War.
I worked briefly as a teacher at a technical institute after graduating in the field of Electrical Technology, before joining the Australian Citizens Party as a full time political organiser 23 years ago. Having lived and suffered through the senseless destruction of Iraq, I was determined to do all in my power to serve and protect my new home.
Over the past four decades mainstream political parties and media in Australia have changed their policies to serve the interests of big corporations and vested interests, instead of the majority of the people. We do not have a “government of the people, for the people and by the people”. We perversely act as a proxy for the Anglo-American establishment, regarding their geopolitical interests, despite the dangers this subjects Australians to.
Furthermore, we have blindly committed to the new liberalism—free trade, privatisation, deregulation—which has looted our physical economy and destroyed the livelihoods of Australian citizens turning us from a proud producer society into a consumer society. This is breeding economic hardship for millions of families and economic depression, far worse than the 1930s. These policies must be reversed and we must re-establish a public bank like the old Commonwealth Bank to properly fund manufacturing, industry, agriculture, infrastructure etc.
My children and the youth of this nation have no hope or future to look forward to unless we have a government which exercises responsibility for the common good of all Australians. Just look at our cost of living, house prices, health system, education system, the crime rate; it is obvious that we’re plunging into very frightening times ahead.
This is why I decided to stand for the senate with the Citizens Party. With 37 years of accumulated knowledge and experience, courageously fighting for a more just, prosperous and equitable future for all Australians, if you have not heard of the ACP, you need to ask yourself why, given their incredible achievements.
I invite you to join me in this fight to return government to the people. I will fight like hell as I recognise that we are facing a situation of life and death for our nation. Complaining and whinging won’t change anything. It’s time to stop voting as usual because they have not heard you for 40 years!
