I find myself running as a candidate in South Australia, not because I have any desire for public office but from a profound sense of obligation to do what is in my power to halt the decline in our economy and society that I have been witnessing with alarm over the last twenty or so years.

Raised in rural Victoria I enjoyed and benefited from what I perceived to be the relative stability of a prosperous and cohesive society. However, if, like me you have a sense that there has been a profound shift and decline in Australia you will be motivated to work towards reclaiming the accountability that government should be subject to.

Our institutions have been systematically dismantled through the process of the globalisation, privatisation and financialization of every aspect of our lives; from banking to water and energy supply, increasing domination of corporations which crush family business and small enterprise. We have been subjected to the repression of political freedom and speech, denied choices around our own health to the over regulation and media manipulation of almost every aspect of daily lives.

We are daily assaulted by forces which impact the quality of services which are increasingly expensive and unresponsive. Australian families are being crushed and impoverished. Our children have been infantilised and indoctrinated, increasingly medicated and progressively engorged with saturated foods and junk social media influence. A generation of children wedded to the NDIS and future welfare dependence.

This is theft.

It is theft by the forces which have been empowered by government to repress the vigour and potential of economic progress, the concentration of speculative banking rather than investment in the physical economy.  Increased national debt rather than wealth creation is stealing from our children.

The theft continues by increased taxation, mortgage stress and inflation. This is further compounded by suffocating innovation such as the promotion of ‘renewable’ energy over investment in nuclear energy.

More theft of our abundant gas and natural resources, shipped out to foreign interests over our own.

The most egregious of all of this however is the theft of our security which has off-shored manufacturing, closed refineries—leaving us to rely on fuel reserves from overseas with only a few weeks of supply at any time, food production sold to overseas interests and our family farms facing extinction.

Our national security is being volunteered to the US under the AUKUS agreement for which we have the privilege to pay for ourselves.

How has it ever come to this?

The major political parties have betrayed this nation, motivated by self-interest and short-term focus. The Australian Citizens Party is the only force in this nation to have been unwavering in their vision to build the future through economic development and national sovereignty, backed by well-functioning public institutions and public banking.

I encourage you to reverse the trend by taking responsibility, putting government back in the hands of the people and supporting the Australian Citizens Party this election.
