My political journey and active role with the Citizens Party began when I discovered their campaign for creating a new Post Office Peoples’ bank. To me, it just made sense.

I have long felt that Australia has been getting worse with monopolies and greed getting out of control. Governments have let big corporations rule the roost—especially in sectors like mining and banking—which has wiped out true market competition.

I am particularly concerned about the war on cash and withdrawal of face-to-face services, as the banks force us online and remove their presence from communities.

Manufacturing and value-adding industry has been wiped out in recent decades and we are very reliant on a few sectors for our national income. The other trend in the wrong direction has been the rise in foreign ownership and control of our banks, markets, and economy in general from the USA and others overseas.

My passion is to see Australia commit to an independent foreign policy and seek out positive relations with all emerging nations, such as those allied with the BRICS group of countries (Brazil/Russia/India/China/South Africa). China is our biggest trading partner and right now our US allies are pushing us into confrontation that could lead to war. I believe that the US will force us to sacrifice ourselves for their agenda—and the major parties are falling in line with the US agenda. I am dead against such counterproductive moves.

To revive Australian productive industry, we should commit to projects like the “Iron Boomerang” steel making and rail corridor project, that will link WA to QLD in a new multi-billion dollar project that produces millions of tonnes of steel supplying the world for the next century. We need to value-add our mining sector, rather than being just an exporter of dirt.

I’m 66 years old. I graduated from Trinity College, East Perth, in 1975 and over the course of my life I’ve worked in many fields: construction, open cut mining, and underground mining. I’ve also worked as a console operator at a service station, operated a Mobitow franchise, been a storeman in Perth and Brisbane, and been an Uber and Taxi driver. My current occupation is an escort pilot for oversize loads, which takes me all over WA. I have four children and seven grandchildren.

We have much that needs doing immediately for the good of the country and even more to build for the future. Please get in touch to join and help in my campaign. If you aim for the stars—you may hit the moon!
