Population

The CEC supports a larger population for Australia. With the fourth-lowest population density in the world, more population would both help to develop, and be supported by, our vast land and resources. The model is the higher birth rates and immigration numbers in the optimistic period following WWII, which accompanied a burst of development and economic growth, whereas the periods of wars and depressions saw low population growth. Building population around the development of new areas and industries will ensure it is spread out across Australia and not just concentrated in capital cities.
